Here we have a logo for a shopping mall in Montreal.  The logo was used at least as far back as 1968, and continued to be used into the 1980s.  It shares a lot of similarities with Filmotype Miner, but its not an exact match.  It looks very 'Photo-lettering', so i looked through my One Line Manual, but couldn't find a match there, nor any of my other vintage catalogs.

Any ideas?

Looks like Headliners was big in Quebec! This is another face from their catalog, named (neo-)Thunderbird.

Amazing.  Just crazy amazing.  Yes, apparently big in Quebec :)

Apparently Headliners is still a blind spot for me.  I'll have to find myself some old catalogs.  They seem to be very difficult to come by, even more so than other phototype-era catalogs.

It's not a special 'use' by any means, but any interest in my posting it to fontsinuse for Neo-Thunderbird, since it has no uses yet?

FWIW, catalogs by Headliners from the later “neo” years (~1980s) are relatively easy to find in Germany. The catch is that they often come bound in branded covers by one of the typesetting services that carried faces from Headliners. For example, I have copies that have the names of Rögener (in Hamburg) or Stulle (in Stuttgart) on the cover, but the inside is from Headliners.

Yes, if you have a few minutes to spare, I’d love to see a post about the Plaza Côte des Neiges on Fonts In Use!

fontsinuse post added to your site.  Any tips on the best way to hunt down german-sourced typography catalogs such as you mention?  Would the best source be eBay Germany?
