Typeface used for The True Believer by Eric Hoffer.  (Harper Perennial Modern Classics edition, recent paperback w red and white cover).  No information on typeface in book or listed online.

The uppercase Q stands out to me (see second image), but other than that I've run the features through a bunch of sites, including a couple hours on Identifont.  It's similar to many but so far can't pin it down.  Something about the weight of it overall and the angle changes in the characters got to me, I kept noticing not just how quietly nice it looked but how nice it felt to read.  You'd be my hero for tracking this down--

This is Melior. Sorry your request took so long to post. It got caught in a spam filter.

Ah thank you! I eventually narrowed it down to Zapf Elliptical 711, which I guess is the unlicensed version? It had Zapf in it so I didn't realize it was the *less* official version. Not sure how I missed Melior, I appreciate it!
