HP Daily Prophet Font to ID.png
Hi everyone,

I'm strugging on this font used for a Daily Prophet prop created by MinaLima for the Harry Potter films. It looks to be based off of the Walden Font "Thouandsticks": https://www.waldenfont.com/tryit.asp?fontid=116. Though it appears thicker and has extra elements on the "E" "P" and "H".

I know that they mostly use Archive and Walden Font typefaces, so perhaps it's just been modified slightly.

Would love to get another opinion on this, thanks so much for any suggestions I really appreciate it.

Gothic Special Condensed Medium, a wood type revival, seems a decent match.

Thousandsticks seems to be based on the same source, just distressed.

Hi thanks for that, it's definately a lot closer in weight so I might be able to make that work. I just assumed it would be Thousandsticks originally as that font was also used on the same prop.

I think the "X" is a little wide in that one though, and the intersection looks lower. Do you think those diagonal lines on "E" "P" and "H" are part of the font or added later?

Cheers

I suspect some customization was done to whatever the source font might have been.

For another digitization of the original, AWT Hamilton Gothic Special, see this page (download here).

Thanks a lot, your help is much appreciated. I think I'll be able to use those to make a decent replica of the original with a little tweaking.
