I'm honestly not sure if this is a custom lettering, though the first game simply used Impact slanted for the logo, and the 3rd uses way more obvious custom lettering. Tried unslanting it just in case...

Vroom vroom! Sorry about the delay. (But oh well, as the phrase saying goes, better late than never XD)

Seems like it's a case of Cavalier Extra Bold with heavy modifications, here's the original sample for reference:

Oh wow, I assumed it was randomly custom. Need to confirm the date, but it's close

Cavalier was released in around 1978, so you're pretty right on the money.
