Looking for the font for 'chante'. Artwork is french, from 1953. Not Eclat, Salut. I was thinking I know it as a revival by Nick's fonts – but cannot find a match. Still it looks like type, not lettering. Anyone?

This is Titanic. As you can see on that page, there are many varying digital versions. Herkimer Bunrab NF (perhaps the Nick revival you were thinking of) and Lexington are probably the best.

Looks like an interesting sample! Please submit it to Fonts In Use if you have more of the image.

Thanks Steve! – I was preparing a FIU post, but couldn't find the font for 'chante..'.
