That’s (a version of) Culdee.

In 2017, Alan J. Prescott made a digitization as Cullane Roman, but I don’t think it has been released. Maybe the designers worked from a scan of the showing in Dan X. Solo’s Decorative Display Alphabets.

Great Florian!

I thought it was a digital one, I found the designer, she told me that it was set by hand,

also I am friend with Alan P. he made his version in 2022.

Thanks for identifying this.

You’re welcome!

Who’s the designer? When she said set by hand, did she mean it’s metal type?

Do you know if any of Alan Prescott’s fonts are released, and if so, how/where?
He showed his Cullane back in 2017.

The designer of the album cover will stay anoymous, she told me yesterday that she worked with a scan of the Schriftenatlas book which also features Culdee.
She modified the glyphs like the long stem/leg in A, N, R.
I will ask Alan when he exactly made it and will look into the digital file, which i got from him.
I really don't know right now what are his plans with all his works, there are hundreds of great digitizations he did over the years, will ask him about that too.
Get back soon.

I have checked the digital font and talked with Alan again,
Cullane Roman was made in October 2017.
He never released it, as many others of his work.

Thank you!

That’s what I thought. My understanding is that many if not most of Alan’s revivals – including Culdee – were intended to be released through the Type Heritage Chapel. Unfortunately, this project appears to be discontinued. At least the website at typeheritage.com has been gone for a while. :(

Florian, i had the same thought and asked him about the Type Heritage Project.
Anna the founder of THP seems to be old and the project is dead now.
