Guardian Sans Semibold and Apple SD Gothic Neo Extrabold are both very close

I think you nailed it. The rounded corners are probably an effect introduced by the reproduction. The Latin part of Apple SD Gothic Neo is derived from Guardian Sans. As it comes bundled with macOS, the font in use likely is SD Gothic Neo, not Guardian Sans.
