That’s Weiss (originally named Weiß-Antiqua). In addition to the W that looks like two overlapping V’s and the descending J, its top-heavy S is a telltale glyph.

No, I don’t think it’s modified, compare to this glyph set. The things I pointed out are details that I find helpful for recognizing Weiss.
