Can anyone identify this type? It could be something similar to an Ed Benguiat font used on horror/sci fi book covers. Any help would be much appreciated. I am new to the site, after being reccomended it by a graphic designer friend, so apologies if my submission isnt quite formatted properly. Hope to use the site more!

It looks like a modified version of Permanent Massiv. Hisao “Hy” Fujita was the one who worked on the album cover, so he may have added the serifs during the artwork production.

Hy is also the younger brother of Neil Fujita, the man who hand-lettered 'the Godfather' logotype (which is also a heavyweight condensed serif). Whether or not Hy was inspired by that lettering is anyone's guess.

Top notch, Faux Icing! I checked to see whether there was a ready-made face with such tiny serifs. Photo-Lettering had Sargent, which comes close in weight, but isn’t based on Permanent Massiv, and off in several details. I agree it’s most likely that Fujita added the serifs himself.
